Police arrested 4 people who assaulted devotees in Kedarnath.
Rudraprayag : Police arrested four people assaulted with devotees on Kedarnath yatra root, a devotee Tanuka Pondar resident of Mahipalpur Delhi, who came to Kedarnath Dham Yatra, lodged a complaint at Kotwali Sonprayag where he went on foot from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Yatra on June 10, 2023.
On the way, a horse was fell in a bad condition near Bhimbali bridge, he stayed there and sought help from the people around, but no one helped to pick up that horse, a person was beating other mules badly there that time. “We only told him that why are you doing this. A group of 4-5 People gathered and started misbehaving with us by beating and abusing, and they also threatened us to leave Uttarakhand soon” the victim said.
This complaint was given by the complainant on 12 June 2023 while returning to Kotwali Sonprayag. On the basis of the complaint of the complainant, investigation was carried out by registering charges under the relevant sections of IPC at Kotwali Sonprayag. During the investigation, 05 accused involved in the incident of assault have been identified and necessary legal action has been implemented.
The police have arrested the four accused involved in assault. All accused are from district Rudraprayag, further action is being taken to cancel the licenses of all these. Superintendent of Police Rudraprayag has instructed all subordinate in-charges to make the popular Kedarnath Dham Yatra safe and easy.
