Uttar pradesh: A church being built under-construction school premises near Shahzadpur village of Akbarpur, pelted stones by Bajrang Dal and VHP workers, they reached there and created ruckus and vandalized, writing the slogan of Jai Shri Ram on the walls, hoisted the saffron flag.
The CCTV cameras and the idol in the church were damaged. The activists accused the illegal construction of the church in connivance with the administration and the KDA. An ultimatum was given to the local administration to stop the work within 10 days and protest for not removing the constructed building.
ADM Finance JP Gupta reached there, the workers clashed with him and a scuffle ensued, on which he returned from there. The police pacified somehow. On the other hand, the school management has accused of looting and indecency.
Activists gathered under the leadership of Bajrang Dal provincial convenor Ajit Raj created a ruckus while protesting against the construction of a church under construction in the premises of St. Mary’s School near Shahzadpur village.
The workers ransacked chairs, tables, kitchen items as well as other rooms. SDM Sadar Akbarpur Dr. Other officers including Poonam Gautam, CO Arun Kumar pacified the workers by convincing them and assured to take action as per rules.
ASP Rajesh Pandey told that Bajrang Dal workers had created ruckus regarding the church being built in the under-construction school, for which they have been pacified. Action will be taken on the complaint.
School Principal Manoj told that the church is being built by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Allahabad. Heavy demolition has been done and the locks of the rooms and cupboards were broken and valuables were damaged.
