There are 44 roads closed for today, work to opening is on.
Chamoli: It has been continuously raining in Chamoli district for the past several days, that caused, a heavy damage to the branch and national highway roads. The heavy rains of last night, the Karnprayag-Gairsain-Nainital National Highway have been blocked at Kalimati near Gairsain, due to which, the people coming and going to Garhwal-Kumaon are facing a lot of problems.
The most of the problems are being faced by the litigants and advocates, going to the Nainital High Court. NH has started the process of opening the road here. Executive Engineer PWD, Sanjay Sinha told that the NH No 109 road will be made ready for, atleast, small vehicle soon, at the beginning of rainy season, there has been damaged of around six crore rupees and only to open the damaged road we urgently need of 1.6 crore rupees, and at the present time there are 40 to 50 JCB machines are constantly working to open the roads in the district.
The Badrinath National Highway is also being blocked for several hours every day. Even today, the route was blocked at four places. Due to which the pilgrims have to face a lot of problems. Not only this, the 44 link road connecting the rural areas of the district are also blocked. Due to which the villagers are forced to walk for miles. Along with this, the supply of essential commodities in the remote areas is getting hampered, due to which the villagers have to face more problems.
