Mother Anusuya two days fair has started.

Chamoli: Mata Anasuya two days fair has started started on Monday with rituals and worship. Minister of State Chandi Prasad Bhatt and BKTC Vice President Kishore Panwar inaugurated the fair.

On the occasion of Dattatreya Jayanti, all the goddesses and their dolliyan (palanquins)of the area also reached the door of Sati Maa Anasuya temple. Every year, childless couples and devotees from all over India come to Maa Anasuya Temple on Dattatreya Jayanti to fulfill their wishes. The district administration has made strict security arrangements on the entire pedestrian route during the fair. It may be noted that since ancient times, a two-day fair is held every year on Dattatreya Jayanti at Sati Mata Anasuya. Childless couples and devotees come to Maa Anusuya fair to fulfill their wishes. It is believed that no one returns empty handed from the mother. Mother fills everyone’s bag.

The childless couple stays awake the whole night and worships the mother. According to mythological beliefs, those who chant and perform yagya in this temple are blessed with children. According to the same beliefs, at this very place, Mother Anusuya, with the power of her penance, transformed the Trinity (Brahma, Vishnu and Shankar) into an infant form and forced him to play in the cradle. Later, after a lot of penance, the Trinity was given its form again and then the three-faced Dattatreya was born here. Since then, people come here with the wish of having a child. Dattatreya temple has also been established here. It is said that Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh wanted to test the chastity of mother Anusuya, then they turned all three into babies. This Trirupa Dattatreya became Lord. A fair and worship is organized here on his birth anniversary.
