Chamoli: District administration Chamoli has started the exercise to make village Rauli-Gwad, adjacent to Chamoli district headquarters Gopeshwar, a model village.
For this, a special action plan is being prepared in coordination with departmental schemes. During the on-site inspection of various schemes in Rauli area, District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana has given instructions to cover 100 percent departmental schemes in the villages adjacent to the headquarters.
In Rauli-Gwad village adjacent to Gopeshwar, progressive farmers are currently earning better income from the production of vegetables as well as Lilium flowers in polyhouses with the help of the Horticulture Department. At the same time, women associated with women self-help groups are strengthening their economy in the village by producing useful items and decorative items from mushroom production and lantana. A detailed plan is being prepared by the district administration for self-help groups and progressive farmers in the village. So that Rauli area can be developed as a model village. During the on-site inspection of the schemes in the area, the District Magistrate asked the Chief Development Officer to cover the village with all the public welfare schemes of the government and develop it as a model village. Instructions were given by the departments to provide technical support and training to the progressive farmers, cultivators and self-help groups in the area. He said that Rauli Gwad adjacent to the headquarters will be made a model village and will also be prepared for exposure visits.
