Rituals, bhajans, lamp festivals and religious festivals are celebrated in the temples of Chamoli.

Chamoli: On the auspicious occasion of consecration of Shri Deity of Ramlala in Ayodhya, recitation and rituals of Shri Ram Bhajan, Kirtan and Sunderkand are going on in the many temples of district Chamoli. And all temples in Municipality and Panchayats have been decorated with beautiful lighting.

In this sequence, on Sunday, under the auspices of Joshimath Municipality, local women took out Divya Kalash Yatra through the main market till Narsingh. Ram Bhajan, Sankirtan and Deepotsav were organized in the temple. Attractive religious wall paintings have been done on the walls of monasteries and temples. Earlier, a cleaning program was also organized by the Municipality at Narasimha Temple in Joshimath. During this, Executive Officer Bharat Bhushan Panwar, Temple Officer Rajendra Singh Chauhan, Priest Hanumant Dimri, Aarti Uniyal, Sushila Panwar and other women from Mahila Mangal Dal participated in the program with enthusiasm.

Women of Siya Ram Self Help Group at Pipalkoti performed Sankirtan at the Shivalaya, Akhand Ramayana recitation at Raghunath Temple at Gauchar, Durga Temple at Pokhari, Kali Temple at Nandprayag, Shivalaya Shankar Temple at Tharali, Sankari Shivalaya at Karnaprayag, Sakleshwar Mahadev and Kund at Gopeshwar. Sundar Kand recitation, bhajan and kirtan as well as cleanliness programs were conducted in the Hanuman temple with everyone’s participation. Along with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, various organizations also organized Kalash Yatra and tableau from Gopeshwar main market to Gopinath temple as well as Sankirtan in the temple.
