Former CM Harish Rawat sat on strike with party members.

Dehradun: Harish Rawat, former chief minister of Uttarakhand sat on strike with his party workers on Wednesday. He said that more than a hundred years ago, some landless backward and farming class people came and settled on the barren land, and now, the government is declaring them encroachment.

At Bindukhatta, the people are demanding to declare their village as a revenue village and we are also joining their front today. Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat along with allies of India Alliance staged a protest. Harish Rawat said that the people are suffering the consequences of the arbitrariness of the state government. Today we are sitting here on a dharna in protest against the rendering of dozens of such Khattas and Gothas, including Bindukhata, homeless in the name of undeclared encroachment of forest land, but the government is ignoring our demands.
