Election Commission of India has allowed use of 12 documents as voter ID card for identification
Chamoli: The Election Commission of India has also made arrangements for voting with 12 other documents instead of voter ID card and aadhar card, in view of 100% voting in the parliamentary Elections 2024. Due to this facilities voters will be able to exercise their franchise easily even if they do not have a voter ID card.
Himanshu Khurana, District Election Officer (DM) said that the Election Commission of India has provided the facility to use 12 photo identity cards for voting for the convenience of voters. In which passport, driving license, service identity card with photo (issued by Central, State Government, PSU, Public Limited Company), official identity card (issued to MPs, MLAs, MLCs), bank or post office passbook with photo, PAN card, smart card (issued by RGI under NPR), MNREGA card, health insurance smart card (under the scheme of Ministry of Labor), Unique Disabled Identity Card (UDID card), photo pension document and Aadhar card can also be used for voting.
