‘Gramin Udhyan Veg Vridhi’ project is enhancing income of women.

Chamoli: State government’s rural development Veg Vriddhi project in district Chamoli, is basis of a strong economy of women. Under the project, women in Chamoli are earning better income by setting up food processing units. Women are now getting better income along with household work.

The state government has started the operation of Gramin Udyam Veg Vriddhi project in the year 2021-22 to increase the income of the villagers by setting up small industries in the rural areas of the state, under this, financial assistance is being provided to the villagers on the basis of grant to set up enterprises like food processing, hatchery unit etc.

In the project, 50 percent of the total cost of setting up the enterprise is being provided as bank loan, 20 percent beneficiary contribution and 30 percent financial assistance is being provided by the REAP project. Due to which the villagers are getting self-employment at home easily at low cost. Five units have been set up under this project in district Chamoli.
