More than a dozen pilgrims, paid cost of violating rule of not making reels video within temple premises.
Chamoli: In the Badrinath Dham temple complex, making reels and videos Wednesday, proved costly for 15 people. The police has made challan all of them and confiscated their mobiles for around eight hours, according to report.
The state government has banned to making the reels and videography within a radius of 50 meters in the temple premises in all four Dhams of Uttarakhand, instead of this, some travellers are turning their eyes from the rule.
Loacal police caught 15 pilgrims making reels and videos with mobiles in the Badrinath temple complex. The police confiscated the mobiles of pilgrims, and after about eight hours, everyone was challaned for Rs 500 each and the mobiles were returned. Police station incharge, Navneet Bhandari said, those who made reels in the temple premises included pilgrims from Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh as well as other areas.
He said, if the situation does not improve, a case will also be registered against those making reels and videos. DGP of state, Abhinav Kumar held a meeting with police officers regarding the Chardham Yatra at the Police Headquarters, and said that only devotees visiting the temple should be allowed to go within a radius of 50 meters of the temple complex.
The Action should be taken against people making unnecessary reels, social media content in the temple premises, and a gate system should be prepared for the movement of vehicles on the Yatra route, so that there is no crowd beyond capacity. The holding area marked for the passengers should be inspected. Where the devotees have been stopped, the duration of stopping and the time of opening of the road should be fixed and information about this should be given to the passengers, he further said.
