A Youth dead by drowning into river pond, during bath.

Chamoli: Sumit Singh, resident of village Kankhul, Karanpryag, went to take a bath with his friends in Langasu river, and died by drowning in the pond Monday afternoon, according to the report.

The police and SDRF team took out the body from the pond and handed over to the relatives after necessary action. Langasu police outpost in-charge Ajit Kumar said that on Monday afternoon, Kankhul residents Abhishek, Priyanshu Singh and Anil Singh informed that their friend Sumit had gone to take a bath in Langasu River, where he drowned in the pond.

After that the police and SDRF personnel reached at the spot, but Sumit was drowned in the pond during this time and was trapped, he was pulled out after hard work, by then Sumit was dead.

Sumit was only brother of his four sisters and this year he has passed intermediate exam too. His father have the job in private sector, on hearing the sad news of Sumit’s death by drowning into river pond, morn spread over the village including his family, village head Bhagwan Kandwal told.
