In the by-election on Badrinath Assembly seats, 52.43 percent people voted.
Chamoli: By-election was went over peacefully Wednesday at Badrinath assembly, the fate of all four candidates on Badrinath seat has been captured in EVM. 52.43 percent people voted in this by-election on this seat.
New voters also participated enthusiastically in exercising their franchise for the first time. There was active participation of women. Senior citizens and disables also voted enthusiastically. The by-election was conducted peacefully at all polling stations of Badrinath Assembly. After the by-election, counting of votes will now take place on July 13.
During the voting, District Election Officer Himanshu Khurana kept monitoring the voting process at the polling stations from the control room. He cast his vote at the Adarsh Divyang polling station Kund. During this, he also took stock of the voting arrangements at the booth. The District Election Officer said that the voting process started at the pre-determined time. Voting was peaceful at all booths. He also congratulated everyone for conducting the voting peacefully.
For the by-election on Badrinath seat, BJP candidate Rajendra Singh Bhandari, Lakhpat Singh Butola of Congress, Himmat Singh Negi of Sainik Samaj Party and independent candidate Naval Kishore are in the fray. The fate of all four candidates is now captured in EVM. There are 102145 voters registered in Badrinath Assembly. Of these, 52485 are male, 49658 are female and 02 are third gender. 52.43 percent voting took place in the by-election. Apart from this, there are 2566 service voters.
