Local products made Food festival was organized at P.G. College Gopeshwar.
Chamoli: Local Food Fest, ‘Rasyan‘ was organize Thursday in the B.Ed. Department of Government Post Graduate College, Gopeshwar. This program was organized under the activity of Vocational Skill Promotion.
In this fest activity, various groups like Sammoun, Bhagirathi Alaknanda, Mana, Kedarkhand, Har Ki Doon, Pind Da Dhaba, Dandi Kathi etc have participated, and prepared and demonstrated various dishes of Garhwal and Kumaon division. All the concerned participants were also wearing the costumes of their respective regions.
Prof. Kuldeep Singh Negi, the Principal of the college, was as a chief guest of the program, and inspected the stalls of all the groups. Many local products dishes were served by various groups, which mainly included Patuda, Bhaang ki Chutney, Jhangora ki Kheer, Bhari Roti, Mandve ki Roti, Chaisu, Bhatt ki Dal, Lal Bhaat, Mandua ka Halwa, Jhangora ki Kheer, Swal ki Puri, Gahat ka Phanu, Mungri ki Patungi and Gahat ki Roti.
The Head of the Department of B.Ed and Program Coordinator, Prof. Swati Negi said that through such events, students not only see various hill cuisines but also get acquainted with each other’s communities and the cuisines made in them and the traditional food items of Uttarakhand are not only tasty and nutritious but also increase the immunity of the human body.
