Chamoli: A Youth Parliament programe was organized in Government Post Graduate College Gopeshwar on Friday. In the program, students demonstrated the conduct of the proceedings of the Parliament.
Through the Youth Parliament, a call was made to encourage better dialogue, tolerance, leadership and participation in decision making. In the Youth Parliament, the MPs highlighted the problems of parents becoming lonely due to increasing nuclear families and demanded that parents should also be given rights in the property of their son and daughter.
The program was inaugurated by the chief guest, Treasurer of Parents Association and former District Panchayat member Mrs. Usha Rawat and college Principal Prof. KS Negi.
In the Youth Parliament, the necessary formalities of oath, address of His Excellency the President and condolence motion were demonstrated. Thereafter, during the Question Hour, there was a heated debate on education, health, employment and railways between the ruling and opposition parties. The questions of the MPs were answered in a dignified manner by the concerned ministers. Work adjournment, no-confidence, attention motion and statement of the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs were placed in the Youth Parliament.
A private bill was presented in the Youth Parliament. It guarantees the rights of elderly parents to 30% of the property of their children. The ruling party and the opposition agreed on this type of bill. And the bill was sent for further action. In this program, the responsibility of Lok Sabha (parliament) Speaker Priyanka, Prime Minister Vipin and Leader of Opposition was played by Bhumika. At the end of the program, Dr J.S Negi, the program coordinator has thanked to all visitors.
