For the local civic elections, all arrangements should be done on time-DM.
Chamoli: District magistrate/district election officer, Sandeep Tiwari has given Instructions to complete all the arrangements for local elections in Chamoli district on time on Saturday. Civic elections will be held for the first time in the newly created Nandanagar (formerly known as Ghat) Nagar Panchayat.
Preparations for the municipal general elections have started in the district. District Magistrate/District Election Officer Sandeep Tiwari held a meeting of all nodal officers regarding preparations for civic elections. He directed that all arrangements related to civic elections should be completed on time.
Election is an important process, and all nodal officers should ensure to discharge election related responsibilities properly. No negligence should be done, all the executive officers of the municipal bodies should personally inspect the basic facilities such as electricity, water, toilets etc. at the polling stations. Immediately provide the proposal for those polling stations where repair work is necessary. Data entry of polling and counting personnel, training, route chart, transportation, writing material, nomination, counting material, election control room, control room, establishment of strong room and necessary arrangements should be ensured on time, directing to the officials, district magistrate/district election officer Tiwari said.
He aslo instructed, Barricading, lighting, tentage and other necessary arrangements should be made in polling stations, counting centers and strong rooms as per the standards of the Commission. Strong arrangements should be made for peace, security and medical facilities during the election.
The Additional District Magistrate said that there are a total of 10 municipal bodies in the district including 04 Nagar Palika Parishad and 06 Nagar Panchayats. The new Nagar Panchayat in Nadanagar (Ghat) is also included in this. There are 64 wards in all these municipal bodies. In which a total of 63 polling stations and 80 polling stations have been made. There are 53349 voters registered in all the bodies. As per the instructions of the Commission, the electoral rolls have been printed. The work of data entry of polling personnel has been started.
