District administration ready to arrangements for the upcoming Chardham Yatra.

Chamoli: District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari held a meeting of all the officials related to the travel arrangements Saturday, for Preparations and strengthening the arrangements for the upcoming Chardham Yatra in district Chamoli, the border district of Uttarakhand.

He directed that keeping in mind the past travel experience and the challenges of the travel period, the arrangements should be strengthened to make the upcoming journey smooth.

The District Magistrate directed that all the related departments should give their proposal to fix the travel arrangements. In this, the work that can be done at the district level should be started immediately and the estimate should be prepared for the big works that are to be done so that approval can be taken from the government level for the big works.

DM Chamoli, has directed the officials of NHIDCL, BRO, Public Works Department and PMGSY to complete the treatment work on the sinking and slide zone on the Badrinath Yatra route before the Yatra. Fix the treatment and debris disposal work of Kameda, Nandprayag, Pagal Nala on priority.

Along with improving all the alternative routes on the Yatra route, the slide zones should also be repaired. Karnaprayag-Kaleshwar, Nandprayag-Kothiyasain and Chamoli-Chhinka-Pipalkoti alternative motor routes should be improved and widened. The slide zones, voteneck points located on Gopeshwar-Mandal-Chopta motor route, Karnaprayag-Pokhari and Gwaldam-Simli-Karnprayag motor routes should be repaired and encroachment should be removed.

In Gopeshwar city area, the drains should be repaired and the road should be widened by installing nets. For laying electricity line from Pandukeshwar to Badrinath for the electricity substation in Badrinath, the Electricity Department was instructed to complete the work by conducting a joint inspection with BRO.
