Consuming poison, a family’s seven members dead including three children, under the pressure of debt.
Panchkula: Inside a car, in Panchkula, seven members of a debt-ridden family from Uttarakhand committed suicide by consuming poison on Monday night.
According to information, the deceased include a couple, three children and elderly family members. The bodies of all were found in a car. The car is said to have Dehradun number, and two of the deceased have been identified as Praveen Mittal and his father Deshraj Mittal till text the news. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
According to the police, at around 11 pm on Monday night, the information was received on Dial 112 that some people were committing suicide in a car parked outside house number 1204. Police reached the spot and admitted six people in the car to a private hospital in Sector-26.
Another person came out of the house writhing in pain. The police team took him to Sector-6 Civil Hospital for treatment. The deceased have been identified as Praveen Mittal and his father Deshraj Mittal and their family members.
After receiving the information, DCP Himadri Kaushik and other senior police officers reached the spot. Police sources said that Praveen Mittal had started a tour and travel business in Dehradun some time ago which did not run well. He suffered huge losses in it. Due to this the family went under the debt.
