Dehradun: The weather in Uttarakhand is ready to change once again. The Meteorological Department Dehradun has warned of heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning in many parts of the state from May 27. A yellow alert has been issued by the Uttarakhand Meteorological Center.
According to Dr. Vikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center state capital Dehradun, most parts of the state will see a change in the weather from Tuesday. He said that strong winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour along with lightning in many areas of Garhwal and Kumaon divisions.
The weather is likely to be more effective in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri and Haridwar districts of Garhwal region, while warnings of heavy rain along with thunder have been issued in Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Almora and Pithoragarh districts of Kumaon division.

The Meteorological Department has advised people to be alert and avoid open places.
Especially farmers, people living in mountainous areas, and tourists on trekking or travel have been instructed to be cautious. Lightning and strong winds can cause problems like falling trees, power line disruption and traffic problems.
In view of the yellow alert, the district administration has instructed disaster management teams to be prepared. The local administration has also been asked to maintain surveillance in sensitive areas and be fully prepared to deal with any emergency.
