Dehradun: After the rebellion in the Congress government in 2016, a sting of former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat came to light. The allegation was that Harish was bargaining with the MLAs to save the government.
CBI has once again intensified the investigation in the sting case. The new investigation officer has sent notices through the court and summoned many leaders including Minister Subodh Uniyal for questioning. An MLA from Haridwar has recorded his statement.
The allegation was that formar CM Harish was bargaining with the MLAs to save the government. At the same time, in another sting, there was a claim of Congress MLA Madan Singh Bisht being involved. There was also talk of former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat being involved in it.
It was claimed that both these stings were done by Umesh Kumar. Two years ago, the CBI had issued notices to take voice samples of former CM Harish Rawat, former minister Harak Singh Rawat, Madan Singh Bisht and present MLA and journalist Umesh Kumar. Some of them had given the samples.
Now the new investigating officer of this case has called many leaders including minister Uniyal for questioning on different dates. Minister, Uniyal has told that he had to appear on Thursday, but due to his busy schedule, he has requested to extend the date. The CBI started the investigation in 2016. After about three years, a case was registered against former CM Harish and others in 2019. The CBI has been investigating for six years.
