For three-tier Panchayat elections, the nomination of 4203 candidates found valid, 186 cancelled.

Chamoli: The process of scrutiny of nomination papers in district Chamoli under the three-tier Panchayat General Election 2025 turned over on Thursday.
During the scrutiny of nomination papers of 4203 candidates for District Panchayat Member, village head, Area Panchayat member and ward Member at Gram Panchayat have been found valid in the district. Whereas during this time the nomination papers of 186 candidates have been cancelled due to various reasons.
After the completion of scrutiny of nomination papers for three-tier Panchayat elections, nominations of 138 candidates for the post of District Panchayat Member in district Chamoli have been found valid, and 1654 nominations of Gram Pradhan(village head) were found valid, while the nominations of 16 candidates have been cancelled. The nominations of 790 candidates of member area panchayat and 1621 candidates of ward member at Gram Panchayat were found valid.
In the scrutiny of nomination papers, 12 nominations of member area panchayat and 158 nominations of member Gram Panchayat have been cancelled. At present, nominations of 4203 candidates have been declared valid for all the posts in the district. After the completion of the process of withdrawal of nominations on 10th and 11th July, the process of allotment of election symbols to the candidates will be provided on 14th July for the first phase and on 18th July for the second phase.
The process of nomination and scrutiny of nomination papers has been completed as per the dates fixed by the State Election Commission. After the completion of the process of withdrawal of nominations, symbols will be allotted to the candidates, and strong arrangements are being made for a peaceful and successful voting process in the district, district election officer, Sandeep Tiwari said.
