Under the strict vigil of police force, elections are going peacefully in the district.

Chamoli: In the district, voting for the posts of District Panchayat President, Vice President, Block Pramukh, Senior and Junior Deputy Pramukh is going on in a peaceful environment in the district headquarters and various development blocks today on 14 August.

Chamoli Police personnel have been deployed at the polling stations with tight security arrangements and the electoral process has been made completely safe through surveillance and intensive patrolling. Election has started today on 14 August from 10Am and would be run till 3pm, and after that the counting of voting would be initiated under the surveillance of CCTV and tight security.

The law and order in the district is completely under control and the voters are exercising their democratic rights without any hindrance, and by evening all the election results also would be declared, the destiny of lucky candidates have to be decided for next five years. There are two candidates for the post of district panchayat president and two candidates( on Tuesday two candidates withdraw name) are for the post of vice president of district panchayat.
