A lake is formed as deposit of debris at Syanachatti, Uttarkashi, state government is ready to handled it.

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed to state Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation to take immediate action by co-ordinating with the district administration and all agencies to drain out the water from the lake formed due to debris at Syanachatti of district Uttarkashi.

CM Dhami has also directed to SDRF, NDRF and Irrigation Department to carry out the work of channelization and drainage on a war footing, and has assured the residents of Syanachatti that the government and administration are working with full readiness and the situation will be normal soon.

Safety of the affected people should be at the top priority, and uninterrupted supply of food, gas, medicines, petrol-diesel and other essential commodities should be ensured for the people staying in safe places and the residents of Syanachatti, CM Dhami ordered to secretary of disaster department.

Vinod Kumar Suman, state Secretary Disaster Management said that at present water is being drained from one part of the lake, but channelization is not possible right now due to the condition of the swamp. Relief teams are working on other options. He has appealed to the local people to maintain patience and not pay attention to any kind of rumours. Yamunotri MLA Sanjay Doval, District Magistrate Prashant Arya, SDM and other officials are present on the spot. The entire area is being monitored by drones constantly.

Health department has deployed 05 doctors, 10 paramedical staff, 04 ambulances in Sianachatti district Uttarkashi. And 02 personnel of the Electricity Department are deployed, who have installed additional 05 street lights. About 300 food kits are being sent to Sianachatti, 03 Pokelin machines of Irrigation Department Purola, by NH Badkot – 02 Pokelin, 04 JCBs, 01 Compressor, and by Forest Department – 02 Camper vehicles are deployed in Sianachatti.
