One dead and one is missing into debris at Tharali, rescue work has been on the way by district administration.

Chamoli: Disaster relief work is going on at a fast pace at Tharali area of district Chamoli, late Friday night, cloud burst and many houses and vehicles went under huge debris over there. Rescue operation has been running since early morning jointly by NDRF, SDRF, ITBP and SSB along with the district administration.

Previous night, due to rising water in Tunri Gadera under Tehsil Tharali, 1 to 2 feet of debris entered the tehsil premises, Chepado Bazaar, Kotdeep Bazaar and some houses and some vehicles are also went under in the debris. Village accountant Tharali told that due to debris falling in a house in village Sangwada, a girl went under the debris, whose body was rescued by DDRF team Tharali. And a person is still missing at village Chepado, rescue team is on search of him.

District administration, Chamoli is engaged in relief and rescue work. District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari himself is present on the spot and inspecting the relief and rescue operations. Teams of NDRF, SDRF and police force are carrying out rescue operations. On Saturday, 07 jawans of DDRF, 27 jawans of NDRF, 12 jawans of SDRF, 12 jawans of SSB Gwaldam, BRO, Health Department and other departmental officers have been deployed on the spot.
