DM and SP of district Chamoli have inspected the disaster affected areas.

Chamoli: District Magistrate of district Chamoli, Sandeep Tiwari and Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar have conducted a joint inspection of the landslide sites created by the disaster at Tharali area.
During the inspection, he took stock of Radibag and Kotdeep Hospital Mohalla area. Expressing serious concern over the cracks in a large part of the mountain and the rocks being stuck here, he said that technical opinion is necessary for its disposal. For this, instructions were given to the Irrigation Department, Geologist and Executive Agencies PMGSY and Public Works Department to conduct a joint inspection, so that the actual situation can be properly assessed and further action can be taken.
The District Magistrate inspected the cracks on the Tharali-Dungri paved road. He also took stock of the houses damaged by the disaster and directed the Tehsil level officers to prepare a report by making a detailed assessment of the damage. The local people told the District Magistrate that due to the disaster they are facing water and electricity problems. On this, the District Magistrate directed the Executive Officer Nagar Panchayat to coordinate with the JE of the Water Institute and ensure immediate water supply.
The District Magistrate also observed the condition of the big stones hanging on the hill above, which are in danger of falling. He appealed to the people living in the houses below to shift to safer places or relief centers. He also instructed that in case of rain, the police administration should immediately stop the traffic by barricading the spot, so that any untoward incident can be avoided.
