Leave of the officers and employees has banned in view of rain and disaster by DM.

Chamoli: District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari has banned the leave of all officers and employees of district in view of the heavy rain alert and disaster that recently occurred at Tahsil Tharali area. He chaired a meeting of the officers through virtual medium on Monday and instructed them.
He also reviewed the relief work being done in the disaster affected areas in the district and ordered the officers to restore the supply of roads, footpaths, electricity and drinking water in the affected areas soon. And in the meeting he said that the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain in the district yet.
There might be the possibility of a danger of landslides and other types of problems in the district. In such a situation, the leave of officers and employees posted in the district has been banned till September 15, 2025 except for unavoidable reasons. He said that no officer should leave the headquarters without any necessary reason and without permission. He has also given strict instructions to the officers and employees to be present at the place of deployment given in view of the disaster, if any officer or employee is not found present at the place of deployment, strict action will be taken against the concerned under the Disaster Management Act.
District Magistrate directed to ensure the deployment of Revenue Sub Inspector, Village Development Officer and Village Panchayat Officer at Tehsil and Development Block level. So that disaster management work can be expedited in the affected areas. All the officers and employees to discharge their duties responsibly, if anyone found negligent in keeping their duties would be taken strict action against the officers and employees DM Chamoli instructed. And he ordered to District Supply Officer to keep the arrangements for food in the relief centers Kulsari and Chepad in order and to keep the system of door-to-door distribution of LPG smooth.
