UPCL established a security operation center, protection against cyberattack.

Dehradun: With the fast growth of online technology, it’s very mandatory to safety from cyberattack, in this context, UPCL has established a Security Operations Center (SOC). This team will be on working for 24 hours a day to prevent cyberattacks, and it also will identify, analyze, and prevent cyberthreats.
Anil Kumar, UPCL MD, stated that the SOC’s purpose will be to continuously monitor IT infrastructure, networks, servers, and digital systems to prevent cyberthreats. It also aims to identify, analyze, and provide rapid response to cyberthreats, ensuring timely control of cyberattacks, beta breaches, malware, ransomware, and other security incidents.
This center will be staffed by a team of trained cybersecurity experts who will monitor and resolve security incidents using modern security tools and techniques. UPCL has designated Superintending Engineer, Vikas Gupta as the CISO Officer and Executive Engineer Mohan Mittal as Assistant CISO.
Cybersecurity directives issued by central government agencies to set forth detailed information security standards for all government employees (including outsourced, contract and temporary workers). To ensure compliance with these directives, UPCL has compiled and disseminated them to various offices and units within the corporation.
