Army soldiers removed snow from the footpath till the door of Hemkund Sahib

Chamoli: For preparation of Hemkund Yatra, the 418 Independent Engineering Corps of the Indian Army Thursday made the pedestrian movement path smooth till Hemkund Gurudwara. The army soldiers will start the work of improving the dangerous parts of the Yatra route and removing snow from the path of horses and mules too.

The preparations for Badrinath dham and Hemkund Sahib Yatra are in full swing. After removing the snow from the path, 35 soldiers of Indian Army and 15 sevadars of gurudwara reached Hemkund Sahib Thursday. The army soldiers and sevadars have opened the doors of the Gurudwara premises after praying. The doors of Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara will be opened for the summer season on 25 May.

Narendrajit Singh Bindra, President of Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Management Trust, said that the part of the stairs of the Yatra route remains dangerous. The work of repairing it has now been started by the army soldiers. Also, the work of removing snow from the path of movement of horses and mules is being done on the Yatra route. He said that the soldiers engaged in the improvement of the Yatra route have said that the Yatra route will be ready by 20 May.
