SC has refused to hear on Uttarakashi mahapanchayat.
Delhi: The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition seeking a stay on the proposed mahapanchayat at Purola in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. A petition was filed against the Mahapanchayat in the court, but the court refused to hear the petition.
The court told the petitioner that this is an administrative matter, for this you should contact the High Court or the related authorities. The petitioner had earlier placed his demand before the district administration, but the administration did not accept the demand, after this the petitioner approached the Supreme Court, but the court also dismissed the petition.
The district police and administration are fully prepared. “We are taking all necessary steps to maintain law and order in the state. No person will be allowed to break the law. Strict action will be taken against whoever goes against the law Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar said.
On the other hand, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Mahmood Asad Madani had also written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami demanding to stop the mahapanchayat.
Expressing concern over the incident in Uttarkashi, Madani has requested to stop the mahapanchayat in his letter. Madani said that if this mahapanchayat organized, then law and order in Uttarakhand can be deteriorate.
There has been a lot of anger among the local people since this incident took place, after this incident, the shops of Muslim traders could not open in Purola, and more than 30 shops have closed in Purola for the last 18 days.
