Gosadan should be constructed soon for destitute animals, DM

Chamoli: Himanshu Khurana, district magistrate chamoli, ordered to all the concerned officials in a meeting on Friday regarding destitute cattle protection. He directed that apart from urban areas, the survey work should be completed in the next three days to determine the number of destitute cattle in rural areas. The land selected for shelter of destitute animals should be re-verified.

Applications should be received soon from non-governmental organization desirous of operating Gosadan(cow shelter), action should be taken to allot land to the already working non-governmental organization and new non-governmental organization on government land for the operation of Gosadans. The proposals also provide to increase the capacity of Gau Sadans already operating on private land. The District Magistrate directed that to provide shelter to destitute animals, and work should be in mission mood.

While reviewing the land selected at Tehsil level for Gosadan operation, the District Magistrate instructed to complete the preparation for the process of land transfer. He said that proposals should be made available under the Mining Trust Fund to build Gosadan in mining-affected areas. So that funds can be made available from the district level for this work in the mining affected areas.
