Eight people seriously injured in a roadways bus accident.
Champawat: Roadways bus going from Champawat to Pithoragarh,accident at Marodakhan. The bus hit the hill, and eight people people were seriously injured including bus driver and conductor in the accident. According to the information, the cause of accident was brake failure of the bus. Thankfully the bus did not fall down from hill.
Bus of Pithoragarh Depot going to Pithoragarh on Thursday morning, suddenly brake failed on a steep slope and bus lost control, due to which there was a hue and cry among the passengers sitting in the bus. Pankaj Pandey, the driver of the bus told, while controlling the bus, hit the hill and saved the lives of 26 passengers in the bus. Six passengers along with the driver conductor were seriously injured when the bus hit the hill. Health worker Harimohan Bohra, who was passing through this way, at the time of the accident, informed the police and 108 about the accident. The local people pulled out the injured passengers from the bus. On receiving the information, 112 and the police reached the spot, all the injured were taken to the hospital through 108.
The passengers who got minor injuries were sent to their destination by another bus. Doctor Karan, who is treating the injured, said that all the injured are out of danger but the injured have suffered a lot. Who are being treated.
Pankaj Pandey, bus driver told that the brakes of the bus suddenly failed in the steep slope, due to this he had to hit the hill to save the lives of the passengers. The driver told that he had to hit the hill three times to stop the bus. He also told that the bus is too old, due to non-availability of spare parts in the workshop, buses have to be run temporary arrangement. As soon as the information about the accident was received, KS Rana, AGM of Lohaghat Depot reached the hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured. He said that all the injured would be given compensation as per the rules.
