Heavy rain closed 60 roads in Kumaon Division.
Haldwani: It’s been heavily raining in Kumaon division since last 24 hours, due to which 60 roads have been closed, and movement of people have also stopped. Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat told reporters, at Haldwani Camp Office today that 60 roads have been closed across the Kumaon Division due to rain, mainly PMGSY roads, out of which 50 roads will be opened by this evening.
Few roads will be opened by July 15. The assessment of the total damage caused in the Kumaon division is also being collected, instructions have been given to all the departments to make it available to their offices immediately. He has instructed to all DM of division that all the rivers and drains flowing in their areas should be barricaded when the water level rises, so that during that time no traffic can be run in any way. The watch is on and the District Magistrates of all the districts have been instructed to remain alert for 24 hours, along with the SDRF is fully prepared with its resources at every district headquarters, the administration has enough resources to deal with every situation.
