Tourist guide training for 10 days, started at P.G.College Gopeshwar.
Chamoli: Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, has started a 10-day tourist guide training program at PG College Gopeshwar on Friday, courtesy the Department of Tourism. Chief Development Officer Dr. Lalit Narayan Mishra inaugurated the guide training program. In this, 31 youths are taking guide training. A team of nature guides is being prepared to connect the tourists coming to the district with nature.
Chief Development Officer, inaugurating the guide training programe, congratulated all the youth participating in it. Encouraging the youth, he said that tourism is a vast sector. There are immense possibilities of adventure tourism, eco tourism, border tourism, world watching, capping, cultural and religious tourism, agriculture and garden tourism, forest tourism, rural tourism, water tourism in Chamoli district. Lakhs of tourists will directly come to Chamoli after the completion of the Karnprayag Rail Project. In such a situation, tourists will need a good guide for information about tourist places including home stays, hotels to stay here. There is a golden opportunity for the youth to make a career in it.
District Tourism Officer, Sobat Singh Rana giving information about tourism said that 31 youths, including 30 youths and one girl, are being trained as guides. He said that every kind of training is being given to the youth through experts to become a good guide. Field visits to places such as Urgam, Rudranath, Auli, Tungnath, Mandal etc. will also be made during the training.
