GST evasion of 1.65 crore rupees has exposed in capital Dun.

Dehradun: Showing fake bills of a firm, a case of GST evasion of Rs 1.65 crore has come to light, located at Doon University Road in the Uttarakhand capital Dehradun. There has no evidence been found of the Delhi based firms, that bills were shown by the firm. This has been revealed in the investigation of the State Tax Department.

According to the information, the state tax department had received information about GST evasion by many firms receiving tenders from government departments. On this, on the instructions of Commissioner State Tax, the team of Assistant Commissioner Manmohan Aswal and Tika Ram Chanyal visited the business place and house of the firm owner located at Doon University and investigated.

It was found that the firm has received payment of approximately Rs 18 crore from Uttarakhand Information and Public Relations Department. The firm obtained bogus invoices from some Delhi based firms for the purpose of GST evasion. These firms neither had any proof of purchase nor of their transportation of the goods sold.

The firm owner deposited Rs 33.20 lakh during home investigation. Action is being taken to recover the remaining tax along with interest. The Special Investigation Branch of the State Tax Department, Haridwar also took action against the firms evading GST and deposited Rs 20 lakh.
