Guest teachers will get vacational payment now- Education Director.

Rudraprayag: The guest teachers of district Rudraprayag will get honorarium( vacational pension) for summer vacation period as well. Director of Education, Mahavir Singh Bisht has cancelled previous direction on 15 February 2024 regarding honorarium.

Mahaveer Singh Bisht, Education Director Secondary Education, had issued instructions to the Chief Education Officer Rudraprayag on 15 February 2024 that the candidates kept for teaching work would be given honorarium for the period of work. If the guest teachers in the district remain absent during the days of general teaching, then they can be paid the honorarium for the other month while leaving the honorarium of summer vacation. Due to this instruction of the Director of Education, the honorarium of the guest teachers in this district was stopped for the summer vacation. Education Director Mahavir Singh Bisht issued another order on 20 February 2024 and canceled his order dated 15 February 2024. Daulat Jagudi, Provincial General Secretary of Guest Teachers Association said, guest teachers have been getting honorarium from the beginning of winter and summer vacation period.

There was a problem regarding this in Rudraprayag district, but the settlement has been done. The Provincial General Secretary of the organization said that the guest teachers are working on very low honorarium since the year 2015. Apart from teaching work, guest teachers also do non-academic work. There is no instruction to deduct the honorarium of summer and winter holiday period anywhere in the mandate regarding the appointment of guest teachers, but in some development blocks of Rudraprayag and Pauri, guest teachers were not given salary for summer period, while in other districts.
