A man and his son died, drowning into a water pond.

Chamoli: The news of a major accident has come to light in Sutol village, a remote area of Nanda Nagar (Ghat) block of district Chamoli,on Saturday, where a man and his son died, drowning into a water Lake.

Former district panchayat member Darshan Singh said that Ganga Singh 47, and his son Anil, 22, died due to drowning in a pond at village Sutol. It is being told that the work of water pond was going on, for water conservation in rural areas. Anil fell into the pond due to slipping of his foot in the pond, during which Anil’s father Nandan Singh went to the pond to save him and he also died due to drowning, according to media reports. This painful death of the father and son at the same place, is creat a mourning in the entire village along with the family. The team of revenue and police have reached at the spot and are taking advance action by taking body into custody.
