A Seminar has organized at P.G.College Gopeshwar on the district Foundation Day.


Chamoli: District Chamoli has observed it’s 64th foundation day on Saturday here at district headquarters Gopeshwar. In this series, a seminar organised at p.g.college Gopeshwar.

In the symposium organized by the National Service Planning Unit, program, co-ordinator, Dr. D.S Negi said that the district has taken a huge leap of development in the last 64 years. In these duration, District Chamoli has set new records in the field of higher education with the establishment of 11 colleges, one engineering and one nursing college and has created a new identity in the world in the field of pilgrimage and tourism.

Vivek Soni, a member of Azim Premji Foundation, while speaking on the causes and prevention of migration in hilly districts, said that migration can be stopped by emphasizing on entrepreneurship and tourism activities. Azim Premji instructor Meenakshi while considering gender inequality in Chamoli said that the burden of domestic and agricultural work on women is more than that of men.
