Many celebrities honoured in a seminar of Provincial Working Journalist Union.

Chamoli: On the topic of role of media to protection in environment and pilgrimage, a splendid seminar has organised of State Union of Working Journalist of chamoli unit, at Birhi on Friday. In this ceremony many celebrities were honoured, who have done special work in development of society.

Chief Guest District Magistrate Dr. Lalit Narayan Mishra said that eco-tourism is being promoted in the Himalayan region. He emphasized on the promotion of hidden tourist places. Media should propagate the merits of tourist places. So that nomadic tourists can visit these places. Chardham Yatra in the mountain is not the only pilgrimage. There are many other picturesque Bugyals and Devasthalas, where there is immense potential for pilgrimage and tourism.

Superintendent of Police district Chamoli, Pramendra Dobal said that Chamoli district is surrounded by pilgrimage and tourist places from all sides. He stressed on the need to come forward for the protection of ancient heritage.

The trustee of CPB Environment Development Committee, Om Prakash Bhatt said that Chamoli district is the land of Chipko movement. Even today people have a passion for environmental protection. He told about the various activities done by the committee.

On this occasion, National President of Shramjeevi Journalists Union, Awadhesh Bhargava, Provincial President Shankar Dutt Sharma, National Vice President Devendra Rawat, District President Pramod Semwal, General Secretary KK Semwal and media personnel from different provinces were present. Many celebrities including Inset BKTC President were honoured. Gopeshwar. Many celebrities were honoured by the Chamoli unit of the Provincial Labor Journalists Union.

In this honoured program, Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee President, Ajendra Ajay, Senior Manager of Govindghat Gurdwara, Sardar Sewa Singh, Senior Journalist Rajpal Bisht, Kranti Bhatt, Pushkar Singh Negi and Business Board President Ankola Purohit were given a symbol for giving a systematic look to the pilgrimage of Badri-Kedar. and was honored with a shawl.
