Due to a bike accident, two people swept away in the Alaknanda river.

Chamoli: Two bike rider met with an accident near Chhinka around 5km back to Chamoli town, slide on Badrinath National Highway Friday evening.

According to the information, there were 2 people riding on the bike and both the riders are reported to have fallen from the hill and got swept away in the Alaknanda river. After getting the information, Chamoli police reached at the spot and started searching for the bike riders. According to the local people, the bike rider lost control and met with an accident near Chhinka slide zone, in which two riders were thrown off the hill and fell into the Alaknanda river and people also saw them floating in Alaknanda.

The police was informed about this incident by the local people immediately. These days the water level of Alaknanda is rising, in which the police is also facing challenges for search and rescue work. It is being told that the bike number
