World AIDS Day was celebrated in Government Post Graduate College.

Gopeshwar: World AIDS Day was celebrated in Government College Gopeshwar District Chamoli on Sunday, on this occasion students took out AIDS awareness rally from college campus to Gopeshwar market. In the program, AIDS counselor Sarojini Bisht said that AIDS disease spreads due to infection of HIV virus, so it is important that we practice safe sex and use safe syringes.

Chief guest of the program, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Puneet Kumar said that prevention is only in having complete information about AIDS. Program President Principal Prof. MP Nagwal said that on AIDS Day, along with making the whole society aware, there is also a need to think.

Dr. M.S. Khati, Additional Chief Medical Officer, said that now medical science has found a cure for AIDS, so if any person is suffering from AIDS in the society, then he should be taken to the hospital in any case, his/her information will be kept confidential and he/she will be treated properly in the hospital.

In the speech competition on AIDS organized on this occasion, Kanishka Danu got first place, Jaswant got second place, Nidhi got third place. Whereas in the poster competition, Jaswant got first place, Anjali got second place and Akshita got third place.
