World Disabled Day observed in district Chamoli.
Chamoli: District Disabled Rehabilitation Center Chamoli has observed world Disabled Day on Tuesday. On this occasion, views were expressed on the international theme of World Disabled Day, steps towards empowerment, inclusion and equality, spread awareness about the rights and welfare of the disabled, ensure their participation and respect in the society.
In the organised program, assistive devices were distributed to 5 disabled people. The chief guest of the program, CMS Anurag Dhanik of the District Hospital, congratulating the disabled people on the Disabled Day, talked about taking information and benefits of the schemes run by the government for the disabled. He told that in the district hospital, the work of making disability certificates is being done by specialist doctors from time to time by examining the health of the disabled people.
Counselor of District Disabled Center Arvind Bisht gave information about the schemes run by the Disabled Rehabilitation Center. He said that all the disabled people of the district have to make their UDID card so that they can get the benefit of all the schemes. He told that UDID cards of 5265 disabled people have been made in the district. Self-employment loans, vocational training as well as assistive devices are being distributed to the disabled persons through the Rehabilitation Centre.
