Zonal and Sector Magistrates were trained for civic elections
Chamoli: For the civic elections district Chamoli has been divided into 10 zones and 17 sectors and zonal and sector magistrates have been deployed to conduct civic elections in a fair and transparent manner.
On Friday, the master trainer gave training to all zonal and sector magistrates on election duties and responsibilities. In which, along with giving information about the guidelines, rules and forms issued by the commission, they were asked to ensure strict compliance of the model code of conduct.
Nodal officer of the training program Anand Singh instructed all the appointed magistrates to visit their respective areas before the polling and keep complete information about basic facilities like electricity, water, toilets, ramps, furniture, voter list, communication etc. at the polling stations.
He said that daily activities at sensitive and hypersensitive polling stations should be monitored. Mobile network, access roads and smooth paths should be inspected at the polling stations. While preparing the route chart of the polling booth, the movement of polling parties should be done as per the route chart. The Zonal and Sector Magistrates were given detailed training on receiving the polling material, the tasks and responsibilities to be performed at the polling day and at the end of the polling.
For the civic elections, distribution of polling material and dispatch of polling parties will be done from Sports Stadium Gopeshwar. After the end of polling, all polling parties will have to deposit the polling material in the strong room built in Rabiika Gopeshwar. 80 polling stations have been set up in 64 wards of 10 civic areas in the district. A total of 53894 voters are registered in all the civic bodies of the district, including 25997 women, 27894 men and 03 other voters.
