The civic body elections went over peacefully with 64.76 percent at 80 polling places of 10 bodies- Chamoli

Chamoli: There were long queues at the polling places throughout the day for the civic election, women to elderly, differently-abled and young voters voted with enthusiasm on Thursday. District Election Officer Sandeep Tiwari, while conducting on-site inspection of Primary school Kund and G.I.C Gopeshwar during the voting, took stock of the voting arrangements and cast his vote at his booth located in Primary school Kund.

Sandeep Tiwari, District Election Officer kept on watching the information of the polling compiled in two hours from the election control room, as well as updating the current situation at the polling places. The District Election Officer said that the elections in all the bodies of the district were peaceful, and 250 disabled and 265 senior voters were identified in civic areas. For 100% voting of disabled and senior citizens, arrangements were also made by the district administration at all the polling stations to reach the polling places including ramps, toilets, electricity, water and access to the polling places. Along with arranging 18 wheelchairs to assist the differently-abled and senior voters in voting, cooperation was provided through volunteers at each polling place.

There’s a total of 54177 voters including 26112 female, 28062 male, 03 others are registered in 04 Nagar Palika Parishad and 06 Nagar Panchayats of the district. Out of which 35088 voters including 17532 female, 17556 male, 02 others exercised their franchise. The total voting percentage 64.76 in 10 civic areas of the district Chamoli.

चमोली जिले की 10 निकायों में और 80बूथों पर 64.76 प्रतिशत हुआ औसत मतदान

चमोली: जनपद चमोली में नगर निकाय चुनाव में 10 निकायों के 80 मतदेय स्थलों पर गुरुवार को शांतिपूर्ण मतदान संपन्न हो गया। जिले की 10 निकायों में 64.76 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ। निकाय चुनाव को लेकर मतदाताओं में खासा उत्साह देखने को मिला। मतदेय स्थलों पर दिनभर लंबी कतारें लगी रही। महिलाओं से लेकर बुजुर्ग, दिव्यांग और युवा मतदाताओं ने उत्साह के साथ मतदान किया।

जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी संदीप तिवारी ने मतदान के दौरान प्रा.वि.कुंड और राइका गोपेश्वर का स्थलीय निरीक्षण करते हुए मतदान व्यवस्थाओं का जायजा लिया और प्रा.वि.कुंड में स्थित अपने बूथ पर मतदान किया। मतदान के दौरान जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी निर्वाचन कंट्रोल रूम से निरंतर दो-दो घण्टे में संकलित मतदान की सूचना का अवलोकन करने के साथ ही मतदेय स्थलों पर मौजूदा स्थिति का अपडेट लेते रहे। जिला निवार्चन अधिकारी ने कहा कि जनपद की सभी निकायों में चुनाव शांतिपूर्वक रहा। जबकि नगर पंचायत थराली के देवराडा वार्ड के मतदाताओं ने नही किया मतदान।

निकाय क्षेत्रों में 250 दिव्यांग और 265 वरिष्ठ मतदाता चिन्हित किए गए थे। दिव्यांग एवं वरिष्ठ नागरिकों का शत प्रतिशत मतदान के लिए जिला प्रशासन द्वारा सभी मतदान केंद्रों पर रैम्प, शौचालय, बिजली, पानी सहित मतदेय स्थल तक आने जाने के लिए वाहन की व्यवस्था भी की गई। दिव्यांग और वरिष्ठ मतदाताओं के लिए मतदान में सहायता हेतु 18 व्हीलचेयर की व्यवस्था के साथ ही प्रत्येक मतदेय स्थल पर वालंटियर के माध्यम से सहयोग प्रदान किया गया।
जनपद की 04 नगर पालिका परिषद और 06 नगर पंचायतों में 26112 महिला, 28062 पुरुष, 03 अन्य सहित कुल 54177 मतदाता पंजीकृत है। जिसमें से 17532 महिला, 17556 पुरुष, 02 अन्य सहित 35088 मतदाताओं ने अपने मताधिकार का प्रयोग किया। जिले की 10 निकाय क्षेत्रों में कुल मतदान प्रतिशत 64.76 रहा।
