Forest beat officers and employees initiated indefinite strike over their various demands.

Jiotirmath:(Joshimath) Divisional Forest officers and employees including forest guards, of both ranges of Nanda Devi National Park Joshimath, Jyotirmath Range and Valley of Flowers Range Govind Ghat, have collectively started work boycott and indefinite strike from 13 February at divisional office of Nanda Devi National Park Jyotirmath.

According to the information, Forest officers and employers have demanded that promotion should be given on completion of 10 years of satisfactory service as per the rules of 2016. Direct recruitment of forest guards should be stopped. Additional salary of one month should be given. Promotion salary should be given on completion of 10 years. One star should be given on the shoulders of forest guards and forest beat officers too.
