Haldapani landslide area work inspected by DM

Chamoli: District Magistrate of district Chamoli Sandeep Tiwari did a field inspection of the improvement work of Haldapani (Gopeshwar)landslide area on Friday. During the inspection, he observed detailed information about the construction work from the Executive Engineer of the Irrigation Department.

To prevent the landslide at Haldapani Gopeshwar, improvement work has been done with an amount of 80 crore 61 lakh 60 thousand from the State Disaster Reduction Fund. Along with the District Magistrate, the members of the committee formed to inspect the completion of the construction work, Additional District Magistrate, Sub-District Magistrate Chamoli, Executive Engineer Rural Construction Department, Executive Engineer Uttarakhand Drinking Water Corporation and Disaster Management Officer did a field inspection.

District Magistrate directed the technical experts of the committee to prepare a report after examining the construction work. He also directed the Sub-District Magistrate to take feedback from the local people.

Executive Engineer of Irrigation Department Arvind Negi told that after the improvement work, crackmeters were installed to see the condition of landslides in the area. Which are safe even after the monsoon season. Also, an amount of 12 lakh has been sanctioned to PWD, NH for the improvement of Chamoli-Gopeshwar road and drains damaged by the improvement work. The road and drains damaged by the improvement work will also be repaired soon.
