District Magistrate discussed the proposed works of Nanda Raj Jaat Yatra.



Chamoli: Following the instructions of the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, on Sunday, District Magistrate, Chamoli, Sandeep Tiwari conducted a field inspection of village Kurud, an important stop of the upcoming Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra, and discussed the preparations.

Sandeep Tiwari, District Magistrate has prayed at the Nanda Devi Rajrajeshwari Siddhapeeth temple and wished for the happiness and prosperity of all the villagers and successful completion of the upcoming Yatra. The chief coordinator of the program, Harendra Singh Rawat, welcomed the District Magistrate and Chief Development Officer and submitted a memorandum on behalf of the Kurud Temple Committee. In the memorandum, it was demanded that the Raj Jat should be started from Kurud, Nanda Devi Raj Jat should be recognized as ‘Nanda Devi Badi Jat’, Kurud should be given a place in the tourism map of the state and all the stops should be developed as religious tourism.

All the demands of the villagers, a letter has been sent to the government and the Secretary of Tourism has been informed. The District Magistrate said that the arrangements for the Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra should be ensured in such a way that the visiting devotees take a positive image of the state and the district with them. He also appealed to the local citizens for cooperation.

Present to assess the necessary arrangements by conducting a field inspection and prepare an action plan in coordination with the local representatives DM has directed to the official. He also said that necessary action should be ensured for marking the parking space on the Yatra route, temple beautification, improvement of footpaths, construction of rest houses, adequate arrangements for toilets, protective works and drain construction, so that there is no inconvenience of any kind during the major Nanda Devi Raj Jat to be held in 2026.
