Ganga Cleanliness Fortnight Launched under the Namami Gange mission at Gopeshwar College

Chamoli: Namami Gange unit has started on Monday the river cleanliness fortnight at the Government Postgraduate College, Gopeshwar. The program is being organized from 16 to 31 March under the National Clean Ganga Mission. Along with cleanliness, efforts will also be made to raise awareness through various competitions and street plays.

On this occasion, prof. Amit Kumar Jaiswal,Principal-in-Charge, at college stated that it is our moral responsibility to keep the Ganga and its surrounding environment clean. The Ganga is a central point of our culture, providing us with constant water supply. The Principal wished the program a success.

NSS In-Charge Dr. D.S. Negi has administered the cleanliness pledge to all the professors and volunteers present and Dr. Vidhi Dhyani, Nodal Officer for the Namami Gange Program, shared her thoughts with all the volunteers on the importance of maintaining cleanliness in the Ganga and its tributaries and the importance of environmental protection.

Namami Gange T-shirts and caps were distributed to all the Namami Gange volunteers and a cleanliness drive was carried out in the college campus by the volunteers.
