Eco tourism development committee meeting held by DM
Chamoli: District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana held a meeting of the District Level Eco Tourism Development Committee on Wednesday. He directed that maximum use of natural materials should be made to develop eco-tourism sites. Strengthening of Ghes-Vagji track route and training for bird watching on Mandal to Chopta and Bhulkana to Saukhark track route should be started soon. Along with local guides, professional trainers from outside should also be included in the training programme. Along with regular monitoring of construction works on track routes, eco-development committees should be formed for cleanliness.
Deputy Forest Conservator Sarvesh Kumar Dubey said that proposals have been sent to the government for strengthening 06 major track routes in the district. Which includes Mana to Satopanth, Mana to Vasundhara, Lord Curzon/Kunwari Pass, Mandal to Chopta and Bhulkana to Saukhark via Tungnath, Ghes-Vagji track, Lohajung to Bhenkaltal track, Van-Vedani-Rupkund track. Work has been started with the funds received from the district level for the improvement of Ghes-Wagji track.
