Shri Badrinath temples door has closed for winter amongst the presence of thousands devotees.
Chamoli: The world famous temple, Shri Badrinath Dham’s door are closed for winter in the presence of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Chairman Ajendra Ajay today on Saturday afternoon at 3:33 pm after the worship on Kartik Shukla Shashthi Shravan Nakshatra.
The weather was also clear today even though the doors were closed after snowfall a few days ago. Badrinath temple was decorated with flowers on the occasion of closing of doors. The entire Badrinath was resonating with the devotional tunes of the Garhwal Scot band in the Singhdwar complex. The slogans of Jai Badri Vishal were echoing. At the time of closing of the doors, more than five and a half thousand pilgrims witnessed the closing of the doors.
After the closure of the Badrinath temples door, Shri Uddhav Ji and Shri Kuber Ji’s Dev Doli will leave for Pandukeshwar and Adiguru Shankaracharya Ji’s Gaddi will leave for Nrisingh Temple Joshimath on Sunday 19 November morning. On the occasion of closing of the doors, Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President Ajendra Ajay said that under the inspiration of the country’s successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, this year’s Badrinath-Kedarnath Yatra has been historic. This time a record maximum of thirty-eight lakh pilgrims have reached Badri-Kedar. Out of which, till today Kapat Bandh, more than eighteen lakh forty thousand pilgrims have reached Badrinath Dham. He has congratulated all the individuals and institutions who contributed to the Yatra.
Chief Executive Officer Yogendra Singh told that from the date of opening of doors till late night of Friday, 17 November 2023, 18 lakh 36 thousand 519 pilgrims have reached Badrinath Dham for darshan which is the highest in all the previous Yatra years. The process of closing the doors had started from 14th November. On this day the doors of Shri Ganesh ji were closed. On 15 November, the doors of Adi Kedareshwar and Adi Guru Shankaracharya temples were closed. On 16th November, Khadag book worship and on 17th November, Mahalakshmi ji worship and embroidery offering was completed. On 18th November, as usual, after the morning Mahabhishek, Balbhog was held. Rajbhog took place at 11 o’clock in the day. The evening worship started at quarter to one in the afternoon. At quarter to two, Rawal ji took the form of a woman and placed Lakshmi ji in the sanctum sanctorum of Badrinath temple.
