TB foram meeting held under the ‘National Tuberculosis Eradication program’.
Chamoli: Under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana, tuberculosis foram meeting was held, under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Programme on Saturday. Health Department was instructed to prepare an action plan to make the entire district tuberculosis free.
The District Magistrate has directed that an action plan should be prepared for testing for tuberculosis in all 610 villages of Chamoli district. In rural areas, all TB patients should be identified with door-to-door survey and contact tracing. Along with treatment, identified TB patients should also be benefited from Nikshay Nutrition and Nikshay Mitra Scheme and the entire district should be made free from TB disease.
Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr. Uma Rawat informed that 115 villages in Chamoli district have been made tuberculosis free. At present, 301 TB patients have been identified in Chamoli district, who are being treated. To prevent this disease, the government has started Nikshay Nutrition Scheme, in which patients are given assistance of Rs 500 per month during treatment. Under the Nikshay Mitra scheme, kits have been distributed to 967 patients in the district so far.
