Complete the construction work on the way to Hemkund expeditiously- DM.

Chamoli: District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana reviewed the infrastructure development works and travel arrangements being carried out on Hemkund travel route Tuesday. He directed the implementing agency Public Works Department to expedite the construction work being carried out on Hemkund route.

The District Magistrate said that the remaining construction works of mode improvement, surface repair, railing and rescue helipad on the Yatra Marg should be completed soon. Speed up the construction work of Govind Ghat to Gurudwara bypass along with signage, kilometer, hectometer, stone set pavement work on the Yatra Marg. PMGSY was instructed to repair the damaged sites on the Pulna motor road.

Jal Sansthan(dept.) was asked to make solid arrangements for the operation of water ATMs installed on the Yatra route and maintenance of drinking water line. EDC was instructed to maintain street lights and keep the street lights safe in winter. Tourism Department was asked to make repair, maintenance and cleanliness arrangements of toilets on the Yatra Marg along with, instructions were given to send a proposal to the government for the requirement of street lights on the entire travel route.

The Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department said that 04 old construction works on the Hemkund Yatra route will be completed soon, while work is also going on in five new construction works at a fast pace and the target is to complete them in this season itself.
